CAMPUS CHAPEL AND MISSIONS
November 2008
Mr. Makemson and 2009 Missions Club officers

 DECEMBER 2009 UPDATE

Picture at the left includes Donnie Herringshaw, Esther Arnold, Kayla Selander and Mr. Makemson holding money collected in Nov/dec 2009 for former HCS graduate (soon to be missionary) Kim Harbaugh.

Recently, the HCS Missions Club (MS and HS) led by Mr. Makemson collected shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (Samaritans Purse -- Franklin Graham) -- approximately 83 shoeboxes were collected for the 2009 Christmas season -- these boxes will end up going somewhere around the world to bless children who may not otherwise have any Christmas to celebrate.  Aside from having gifts to open, the focus of the program is to share the good news about Jesus Christ -- the Greatest Gift of All.

 *************************

The focus of the HCS Chapel program is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to share with our students why a personal relationship with Jesus is needed.  We seek to partner with the home and church in providing another avenue for spiritual training.  Coordinated by Pastor Chuck Pausley and Mr. Randy Gaines (HCS Bible teachers), weekly chapels are held on Tuesday Afternoons for K5 through 5th grade, and Thursday Afternoons for 6th grade through High School.

Mr. Bill Makemson is again directing this year's HCS Missions Club, carrying out service projects throughout the county, as well as supporting local missionaries through gifts and personal visits.
