Uniform Policy
DRESS CODE UPDATE for 09-10 -- The HCS School Board recently made the following policy decision/amendment for school this fall: 1. Adding two more colors to the current choices (red and hunter green).
HCS will continue to require logos on uniform shirts; HCS will continue to allow long sleeve shirts with the HCS logo; Cargo shorts and pants will continue to be allowed; HCS will not re-sell used shirts, but continue to seekand accept donations of used uniforms to bless families and students with extras in case of financial difficulties or daily campus emergency; more consistent enforcement of dress code policy will take place on a daily basis (sloppiness to disappear!).
The dress standards apply to all students Kindergarten through 12th grade, while on campus, before and after school and on school sponsored trips. Pre-school students purchase a PE/Field Trip shirt to wear for field trips and other special occasions as directed and informed.
Shirts: Boys and girls wear polo shirts with the school emblem in navy, royal blue, yellow or white.
Outerwear: Navy blue cardigan sweaters or HCS monogrammed sweatshirts or zipper jackets (non-logo ok) are the only acceptable outerwear to be worn in the classroom.
PE Uniform: A PE uniform is required for Kindergarten through 8th grade. The screen-printed tee shirt will also be used as a field trip shirt for Kindergarten through 4th grade.
Bottoms: Uniform bottoms in navy, khaki or black can be purchased at the Tee Shirt Company or at a department store. Boys wear shorts and slacks; girls can wear shorts, skorts, skirts, slacks, and capri’s.
These are available exclusively at The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tee Shirt Company. The store is located in downtown Sebring at 239 N Ridgewood Drive. Phone number 863-385-0456.
