Bad Weather / School Closing Information

HCS posts school closings on the home page of this website, along with notifying radio station WWOJ (99.1) and News Channel 8.

On many occasions, HCS will also follow the Highlands County Public School system for closings (there are exceptions however, as some public school buildings are used as shelters) -- go to www.highlands.k12.fl.us to access the public school system home page.

For Highlands County Emergency Management Information, at the public school website listed above go to INFORMATION, scroll down to LOCAL LINKS and then click on EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT for meeting briefings as they are released by the local authorities.
