How can you consider helping Heartland Christian School in Sebring, Florida? There are many ways to lend a hand, and here are a few of the most basic ways to get started:
1. SCRIP - HCS now sells SCRIP, a program designed to allow families to donate money through everyday purchases! Businesses around the country sell "gift cards" to HCS at a discount, ranging from 2% or greater, and HCS makes a "profit" on the discount provided. For example, you the shopper spend $100 on a gift card and receive a $100 gift card in return. SCRIP sells the gift card to HCS for $98, and blesses HCS with the $2 profit! Sound easy? It is! Call the front office today to get started in this very simple fundraiser.
NEW 2. SUBWAY SCHOOL REWARDS: http://www.subwaykids.com/grownups/classroom/ssr.aspx -- Subway offers a chance for families to link their diner-rewards card to the school of their choice. Access this link and begin supporting HCS when visiting Subway today! School ZIP CODE is 33870.
3. HIGHLANDS INDEPENDENT BANK: HIB offers Heartland Christian families a way to support the school, through starting a checking account and purchasing checks with the HCS logo on them. An easy way to make money for the school (while spending yours!) -- check out Highlands Independent Bank!
4. www.goodsearch.com -- A search engine that allows you to earn almost 1 penny for every search you perfom through the website -- while not earning "mountains" of dollars for HCS, if (for example) 20 people performed 10 searches through GOODSEARCH daily, HCS would earn $2, and by the end of the year this would amount to $730! Go to the listed web address, put HCS in the appropriate areas (make sure that you have Heartland Christian from SEBRING, FL and get started today!

5. Box Tops For Education and Campbell's Soup Labels: Schools can earn money towards education through Bozx Tops, and points towards products through Campbell's Labels. Did you know that a school can earn up to $10,000 per school year in cash if 10 cent labels are effectively collected? Typically, these 2 avenues for revenue have been used to support HCS Library Services -- visit www.boxtops.com and www.labelsforeducation.com for more information. Please bring in your Box Tops and Soup Labels today!
6. OFFICE DEPOT: HCS earns a 5% cashback bonus (merchandising/gift card given back to school) for utilizing Office Depot's "Back to Schools*" program. Whether visiting the loal store, going to www.officedepot.com or calling 1-800-GO-DEPOT, just using our ID# 70023774 will help HCS earn extra resources! You can go to www.officedepot.com to download the flyer with details about the program.
7. TARGET: Shopping at Target gets HCS a 1% cash back donation for all credit card purchases -- check out the regional Target stores in Lakeland, Haines City or other Central Florida locations when shopping and apply for your card to help HCS today!! Even without a local Target, HCs still manages to receive around $100 yearlt from this program.
8. VOLUNTEER: HCS can always use help with maintenance on various projects and even coordinating certain fundraisers through the course of the school year. Please call the front office at any time to speak with Mrs. Kaser to see how you can get "plugged in" to help HCS be all it can be! In the Spring of 2009, HCS was invited to serve at the HIGHLANDS LITTLE THEATER during the production of "Beauty and the Beast", and raised approximately $3,500. As opportunities arise, please know that your gifts and talents can be used to help HCS further its educational mission!
9. Cash/monetary gifts and support: Tuition covers about 70% of expenses here at HCS. We are always in need of donors and heroes who see the need for Christian education, who hear the call from the Lord, and who are willing to take HCS on as a partner in ministry. We currently have a few churches that give additional support to the school, as well as a couple of ongoing individual donors who give occasional gifts throughout the year. HCS desires to raise additional support to service our ongoing budget needs, while also building perpetual, ongoing "legacy income" for the future. HCS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, and all donations and gifts are tax-deductible.
10. Grant and Foundation Support: HCS has received various grant support from private foundations over the past few years including the Berakah Foundation (California), the Coffman Family Foundation (Oregon), the New York Community Trust (New York), Shepherds for the Savior (Texas) and Publix Super Market Charities (Florida) for various program needs. HCS would enjoy consideration from foundations gifting 501 (C) (3) organizations to give generously to HCS -- if you have contact with a foundation that gives to Christian interests, please talk with Mr. Kaser today!
11. RECYCLING: Beginning in January 2009, HCS has taken steps to institute "green policies" in certain areas. One simple way is through collecting aluminum cans for recycling. Watch for receptacles and containers around the HCS campus. Collecting cans can "add up" for Heartland Christian School. Bring in your empty aluminum cans!
